The Long Tentacle Plate Coral (Heliofungia actiniformis) is a dynamic, large-polyp stony coral known for its long, flowing tentacles that resemble anemones in both shape and motion. Each specimen features a flat, disc-like skeletal base covered in soft tissue, from which tentacles extend several inches, creating constant movement and visual texture in the reef.

Coloration typically ranges from metallic greens, browns, and purples, with some morphs exhibiting fluorescent tips or subtle striping under actinic lighting. This coral thrives in open sandbed placements, where it has room to expand fully and move slightly with the current.
