Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using our website (www.underwaterarchives.com). By accessing or purchasing from our site, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree to all the terms and conditions of this agreement, you may not access the website or use any services.

 

  1. GENERAL TERMS


By visiting our website and/or purchasing from us, you engage in our “Service” and agree to be bound by the following terms, including those additional policies referenced herein or available by hyperlink (such as our Shipping Policy, Live Arrival Guarantee, and Privacy Policy). These Terms apply to all users, including but not limited to browsers, vendors, customers, merchants, and contributors of content. We reserve the right to update, change, or replace any part of these Terms of Service at any time. It is your responsibility to check this page periodically for changes. Your continued use of the website constitutes acceptance of any modifications.


2. ELIGIBILITY


By agreeing to these Terms, you represent that you are at least 18 years old or have obtained permission from a legal guardian to use this website. You are purchasing aquatic livestock or products for personal use and not for resale unless otherwise agreed upon in writing. You are also responsible for ensuring that purchasing and importing the items on our website complies with local laws and regulations.


3. LIVESTOCK POLICY


3.1 Ethical and Sustainable Sourcing


At Underwater Archives, we prioritize ethical and sustainable sourcing for all of our fish, corals, and invertebrates. We work with trusted suppliers and aquaculture facilities to ensure the health and well-being of every specimen we offer.


3.2 Live Arrival Guarantee


We offer a Live Arrival Guarantee (LAG) on all livestock shipments. This guarantee ensures that your fish and corals arrive alive and in good health. However, to qualify for our LAG, the following conditions must be met:

You must accept delivery on the first attempt.

Any DOA (Dead on Arrival) claims must be reported within 2 hours of delivery with clear photos of the unopened bag and specimen.


Failure to follow these steps may void the Live Arrival Guarantee.


3.3 No Refunds on Livestock


Due to the sensitive nature of aquatic life, we do not offer refunds on livestock. If an issue arises, we will provide store credit at our discretion.


4. ORDERING, PAYMENT, & PRICING


4.1 Payment Methods


We accept major credit cards, PayPal, and other approved payment methods listed at checkout. All transactions are processed securely.


4.2 Pricing & Availability


All prices are subject to change without prior notice. Due to the limited availability of rare specimens, adding an item to your cart does not reserve it until checkout is completed. If an item is out of stock after your purchase, we will notify you as soon as possible to offer a substitution or refund.


4.3 Order Cancellation Policy

Livestock orders cannot be canceled once they are processed for shipping.


5. SHIPPING & DELIVERY


5.1 Shipping Methods


We offer overnight shipping for all livestock to ensure their safety and well-being. Standard and expedited shipping options are available for dry goods.


5.2 Shipping Delays


We are not responsible for shipping delays caused by carrier issues (FedEx, UPS, etc.), weather conditions, or incorrect shipping addresses provided by the customer. If your shipment is delayed due to carrier issues, we will work with you to resolve the situation but cannot guarantee live arrival outside our stated terms.


5.3 Local Pickup


Local pickup may be available by appointment. Contact us to arrange a pickup time.


6. WARRANTIES & LIABILITY


6.1 Livestock Health Disclaimer


While we take every precaution to ensure the health of our livestock before shipping, we cannot guarantee long-term survival once an animal is introduced into your aquarium. Many factors affect their well-being, including water parameters, tank conditions, and compatibility with other species.


6.2 Product Warranties


We offer a manufacturer’s warranty on applicable dry goods. If you experience an issue, please contact the manufacturer directly for warranty claims.


6.3 Limitation of Liability


Underwater Archives is not responsible for any loss of livestock after the acclimation period. We are not liable for any damage, injury, or loss resulting from the purchase, transportation, or introduction of aquatic life to your system. We are also not responsible for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages related to our products or services. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid for your order.


7. RETURNS & REFUNDS


7.1 Livestock Returns


Due to the sensitive nature of aquatic life, we do not accept returns on livestock.

 

7.3 Refund Processing


Once a return is received and inspected, we will notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. Refunds are processed back to the original payment method within 5–7 business days.
